About the Initiative
There are a number of programs that are very complimentary to benchmarking. In some cases, the program is taking action at the individual process level (developing "Best Practices" for example). What’s more, some of these programs are publicly funded. There is an opportunity for benchmarking participants to leverage from these programs, and in turn provide feedback to the program as a unified body to assist in meeting your objectives.
1) InfraGuide to Sustainable Municipal Infrastructure
Various Best Practices are available from the website
2) BCWWA - British Columbia Water & Waste Association
In association with utility practioners, they have developed a range of best practices to guide municipal water utilities.
3) Ontario Municipal Benchmarking Initiative (OMBI)
In partner with several progressive municipalities in Ontario, best practices for water and wastewater utilities have been developed.
4) The Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) is the economic regulator of the water and sewerage industry in England and Wales. The Canadian National Water and Wastewater Benchmarking Initiative is partnering with OFWAT to share international comparators.
